Shifter bushings opinions...

Having driven the car a bit now, I can comment further on the bushings.  They definitely make the shifter feel much more mechanical and direct.  It's a little disconcerting at first because you are feeling more "harshness," but truly you are just able to feel the selector forks moving around against the gears where before the rubber muffled all of that from you.

I feel like it's more important to not rest a hand on the knob now though, since any force on it is definitely going right into the transmission.  The bushings would absorb some of it previously.

Also, the car is a lot louder now that the airbox isn't half-full of fuzz and leaves, at least from the interior (no idea if it's any louder to others).  I just hope the fuzz isn't all insulation from elsewhere on the car.  *facepalm.jpg*

Dave from Mentor Audi just dropped off a new air filter at my house, so he's keeping up his track record of doing a great job post-sale... even though the dealership themselves apparently failed massively when it came to the CPO process with this car.
